Engaging Students in Community and Enterprise

Student Cohorts

The LocalBiz Project can be purchased using eLearning Credits

The Project is designed to be run with students from Year 9 upwards - the 14-19 age range. It can also involve students of differing abilities.

The less mature, or less able, students will benefit from a teacher-led experience, whilst the older or more able will be able to make progress with teacher guidance. This corresponds with the Level 1 and Level 2 descriptions from QCA.

Older students (at Level 3) could even be charged with taking full responsibility, as a student-run Mini-enterprise.

Here are some examples:

  • Teacher-led (e.g. in a Year 10 or 11 alternative curriculum)
  • Teacher-guided (e.g. towards L2+ qualifications - additional GCSE points!)
  • A Project within an existing Business Studies qualification
  • An Enterprise Day activity
  • A Student-run Mini-Enterprise (e.g. in the Sixth form)
  • A KS4-wide Full Enterprise Programme, delivering up to 2 days of enterprise entitlement to all.

... or anything in between!
